I doubt anyone reads this anymore.... I have about 5 minutes to kill before the washing machine stops and I can load everything into the drier. Thankfully (and yes, I know I'm misusing the word) Matt's parents live about 2 blocks from us, so we've been doing laundry here and occasionally take advantage of their internet. Actually, Matt's here every day, playing online chess. I check Facebook from my phone every day, but that's it.
I'm becoming quite happy in my narrow existence. Being around people has its benefits, but usually they just make me really tired.
Matt bought us tickets to the Loudon Wainwright III concert at the Belcourt last Sunday. His daughter Lucy opened for him, and she had a great voice too. About 4 songs into his set, though, my bronchial tubes decided that they'd had enough of this breathing shit, and decided to close up. It's terribly hard to concentrate on anything other than breathing when you can't, so we left a few songs later. It was disappointing, but he'd blown out his voice a couple days ago in Atlanta, he said, so he wasn't in tip-top shape, anyway.
I hear the washer spinning. Sometimes it takes a minute, though.
We might take a road trip to Asheville a week from this Saturday. I have the weekend off, Dawn (Matt's best friend) was going down anyway for an Ani DiFranco show (which sold out before we could afford tickets, which is just as well since we really can't afford tickets)...and Asheville's just a good city. I like traveling -- in moderation. Sometimes I just need a break from Nashville. I've lived here since 2002, which will be 7 years come August. That's kind of a lot, come to think of it. I don't like getting older, which is something I shouldn't be complaining about since I'm only 25.
The washer just stopped. I'm going to Bread and Company for breakfast now. Yum.
